Parties

Maybe I don't get out much, maybe I just like to stay at home... I have, however, held a few parties to make up for it.

Apparently there is a demand (if a somewhat small demand) for info on my parties... first there was Party At Bill's, then there was another Party At Bill's (I think), then a certain 21st Birthday Party (which I hear was pretty good, possibly due to the fact that it was actually a double birthday party. *cheers for frenzal*)...

Since then there has been a Christmas BBQ Spodfest Party, and news just in on what Snapper has labelled Party At Bill's II.

So, I am your host for this evening (what? You're reading this during the day??)... but be damned if I'm gonna wear a dinnersuit like in the photo! Ah-ha.

• When: er, I guess I can look it up somewhere. ('97)
• Guests: Philbert, Jojo, Dian, Kiwi, Duesouth, um... who else? A few friends from highschool (Jarlaxle, Phoenix, Yip), and I can't rememebr who else! D'oh!
• Spaceballs on video.
• Pizza Hut home-delivered(?) pizzas.
• "Not enough notice given", and hence a fairly poor turnout.

• Guests: Aquarian, Lostsoul, Hermit, Myste, Kuju, Moose, Nimrod, Nimrod's friends (from Sweden), Manshoon, Snapper, Druss... probably friends from highschool/uni again (I suck something chronic when it comes to names and people)
• Other guests?: Wanda?, Sartori?, Judge?, Tam?, Kiera?, Sherlock? Oh, for a brilliant memory!
• Moose nearly broke open Nimrod's head on the garage - Nimrod was tackled and the both ploughed head-long into the ditch beside it, Nimrods head cenitmetres away from the corner (brick... that'd hurt)
• Moose was dragged off Nimrod's pretty friend, who he had pinned to the ground on the back lawn (funny, that... who'd have thought?)
• Moose and I (where I am Bill) crashed to the floor in the sort-of-kitchen area, to much laughter, as he attempted to snog me (and I atepted to back out of it)
• There is some other stuff relating to Aquarian, too... stuff about her having rather a lot to drink, and something about everyone thinking how she got on to my brother... ooer!

When was it?	Saturday, 11 October, 1997.
Guests: Frenzal (of course), Dionon, Tori, mOnSTer, Fish, Snapper, Exile, Druss, Zoltan, Torent, Tiemae (+1?), Aiffiona, Qt, Possession, Sinner, Wildfire, Zoot, Moose, Judge, Jaune, Tam, Elfguy, Lostsoul, Kehleyr?, friends from highschool/uni (Jarlaxle, Pheonix, Yip; Churn, Celestino, Zeshaan, Zak, Gavin, a friend of Gavin's, Tanya - for a few minutes, +?)... Um.. who else were there? I wrote a list once that was near 40 people (yes, I lost the paper, or did I? *goes to look*)
	Large bowl of LOLLIES! including Jaffas, Fantales, Minties, Rasberries, Strawberries'n'Cream, Choc Beans (hey - the shop really was out of M&M's and Smarties, alright?), Marshmallows and probably more.
I bought a bottle of Vodka for myself (maybe some to share), a bottle of Midori, another of Tequila and two cases of beer (I think - one of Hahn Ice, the other Carlton Cold). Out of the Vodka I managed to get two drinks for myself in the whole night... the rest somehow magically disappeard... (which, I suppose is okay, since after eating the aforementioned lollies Vodka + orange tasted pretty bad!)
	A lot of people brought cards, which was wonderful, and some even gifts! Thanks people! (You didn't have to, really.)
	Guitars were present, and songs were had. mOnSTer gave a fine rendition or two of some of her songs (and verily impressed and entertained all), Snapper also played some music, as I recall.. Pearl Jam and the like. Who else noticed that I can't actually sing? *grin*
Zoltan... well, Zoltan was there, and, as per usual, was damn entertaining. I think Zoltan can even be funny sitting very still and not saying anything (this is yet to be tested... ever seen him sit still?)
	Mum's CD player would skip if the volume was turned up above something not-quite-loud-enough, so in the end our Hero, Zoltan, backed his car up the drive and cranked up his car stereo... I'm sure the neighbours on that were impressed.
How to best prove I can't cook: I managed to burn party sausage rolls... !@#&! How did I do that? It takes skill.
Okay, now that was a party... I wish I could have it over again, and next time I'd try to be a little less worried about how it was going to go and enjoy myself some more (not that I didn't enjoy myself, but there was potential for more). The party was supposedly for my 21st birthday (which was the next day) as well as for Frenzal's birthday, his being a few days prior.

• net.norties! There was a rather large group of people huddled around the computer at one stage (considering it isn't a convenient place to have that many people), and caught out one of my friends from school days typing with one hand... ooer!
• Looking at photos... Possession said, of a photo of me with red hair, something along the lines of "looks like a used tampon" .. gee, thanks. *grin*
• Sparklers!
• What was that wine? Dessert wine? Whatever it was, I *thought* it tasted alright at the time... was that after six Stoli's? I don't remember...
• Sillysausage refused to have his photo taken.

• When: Friday, 24 April, 1998.
• Guests: Dian, Jarlaxle, Kramer, Emerald, Sinner, Seahorse, Aiffiona, Tiemae + Simon, two of Sinner's friends, and at some stage a friend of my sister, and my brother, Clinton.
• Excuses, etc for not coming: sick (genuine, and I wish I could have been visiting her to keep her company instead of having a good time... but good times must be had when you invite others), recovering from a violent attack by someone worked with (that just isn't right... restraint! Restraint!), car ignition stuffed (and not really wanting to have to hotwire own car - which is fair enough!), working late (setting up a QUAKE server... is that an excuse?), thought it was the Friday after (oops!), had a birthday that day (and had family dinner or something... Happy Birthday Kait!), invited to a friend's 21st (well, 21sts ARE important), not in Sydney (well, Brisbane, Melbourne and Townsville aren't exactly close...), not in the COUNTRY (ah-ha... having friends in America and Canada and lord-knows where else can be annoyying sometimes *grin*), Physics exam... wtf?!
• What they missed out on (the pikArs): a case of Stoli's, b33r, Sheridan's; Coke, Fanta, Sprite, LemonLime&Orange mineral water; a table laden with chips and nuts and slices and Minties and stuff, party pies and sausage rolls; chocolate-coated ice-creams in the freezer; Kramer playing drums, blue-balloon volleyball in the bedroom, lying under the kitchen table (we weren't intoxicated... no!), dancing (yeah, like what we were doing can be justified as anything even close), a pile of spods on a bed...
• "We're not interested in all that shite... did you really have a stripper?" Oh, did I forget to mention?... So far there have been at least three people who seem to have wished they did / could have been there when this fact is mentioned... But hey... If you miss out, you miss out. (NB: The girls' opinion is that she had no tits, and wasn't worth it... I wasn't complaining). And, for CoyoTe: yes, photos were taken (as requested) - we'll see what we can do about getting scans (haven't seen the photos yet!)
• Hot topics for the night: body-piercings (navel, mostly), what a stripper (or should that be exoitic dancer?) would do and for how much (on second thoughts, "dancing" doesn't havemuch to do with it)... Hmm... nothing about chickens - how odd!
